This study investigates how effective the study treatment is at reducing the pain experienced and weight of patients living with osteoarthritis knee pain

1 in 5 adults in the UK over the age of 45 are living with Knee Osteoarthritis. This condition can become exacerbated by being overweight / having obesity. Our latest research study hopes to help with this…

This study is investigating how effective the study treatment is at reducing the level of pain experienced and body weight of participants with osteoarthritis knee pain and obesity/overweight.

Who can participate in the trial?

This study is open to anyone who:

- Has a BMI of 27 or higher (Check your BMI here)

- Has previously tried to lose weight unsuccessfully

And

- Is living with knee pain

- Is 50 or older and/or experiences morning stiffness in their knee and/or experiences crepitus (a crunching/grinding noise) in their knee

Other inclusion / exclusion criteria will apply and this will be discussed with you by one of our research team over the phone.

What is the study process?

Your participation in this study will last for around 70 weeks and will involve taking the study treatment, or a placebo, once a week. This study is placebo-controlled meaning half of the participants will receive the study treatment and the other half will receive a placebo.

Your participation will also involve visits to our clinic throughout the course of the study.

You will receive compensation for your study related time and activities, such as visits to our clinic
