Cardiovascular Disease Outcomes Study

This study is investigating the effectiveness of the study treatment in those patients with Type 2 Diabetes, Hypertension and Cardiovascular Disease

What is the trial about?

Despite recent advances in the management of many health conditions, there remains an unmet need for effective therapies for patients who are Type 2 Diabetic, have Hypertension and who are living with Cardiovascular Disease.

With 1 in 3 UK adults experiencing Hypertension, 7 million people living with Cardiovascular Disease and 5 million Diabetics in the UK, research into these new and evolving therapies is particularly important.

This study is investigating the effectiveness of the study treatment in reducing the risk of a cardiovascular event or heart failure in Type 2 Diabetic patients who are Hypertensive and are living with Cardiovascular Disease.

Who can participate in the trial?

This study is open to anyone aged 18 or over who:

- Has a medical history of hypertension

- Has Type 2 Diabetes

- And is living with Cardiovascular Disease

Other inclusion / exclusion criteria will apply and this will be discussed with you by one of our research team over the phone.

What is the study process?

Your participation in this study will last for up to 4.5 years and will involve taking the study treatment, or a placebo, throughout the study. This study is placebo controlled meaning half of the participants will receive the study treatment and half will receive a placebo.

Your participation will also involve regular visits to our clinic throughout the course of the study.

What can you expect as compensation?

You will receive reimbursement for your study related time and activities, such as visits to our clinic.
