According to leading heart charities, there are over 8 million people in the UK living with cardiovascular disease.
Every year, one hospital admission every 5 minutes is due to a heart attack or stroke. With an aging population, the number of people living with cardiovascular disease is expected to continue rising. That’s why research into ongoing treatments for cardiovascular disease is so important.
We’re looking for patients who are living with cardiovascular disease or are even just at risk of experiencing a heart attack or stroke due to reasons such as family history to register their interest in these clinical trials. These clinical trials are open to those participants who may:
- Be currently living with Cardiovascular Disease (Have experienced a heart attack, stroke etc)
- Be more at risk of experiencing a heart attack or stroke due to family history, smoker status or age
Your participation in these clinical trials will involve receiving the trial treatments, or placebos, throughout the trial durations. Your participation in these clinical trials will also involve regular visits to your local FutureMeds clinic throughout the course of the trials. This is to ensure that you will be monitored throughout by our expert medical team
Participants in these clinical trials may also receive reimbursement for their trial related time and activities, such as visits to our clinic

Participation in clinical trials provides access to innovative and potentially life-saving treatments. It also contributes to medical research, benefiting both current and future healthcare outcomes. However, participants should carefully weigh up the risks and benefits and seek advice from their doctor before taking part in a trial.
Compensation varies from trial to trial. However, you can expect compensation for your travel expenses. In addition to reimbursement of travel expenses, you will often also receive an expense allowance as approved by an ethics committee. You will be informed of the amount of compensation before attending.
FutureMeds cannot offer you private medical treatment after the end of the study. However, we will support you by working with your GP. Our doctors will provide you with comprehensive advice and your GP will receive a progress report on your participation in the study.
FutureMeds UK and our network of international study sites have a data protection officer and consistently adhere to all national and international data protection laws. This means that we only pass on anonymised disease data to our clients that is required for the assessment of drug effects. Names and address data are never passed on to customers, advertising companies or other potential interested parties. In addition, all FutureMeds employees are naturally subject to medical confidentiality.
